## Three Ways to Overcome City-Related Stress

When you told others that you live in a big city, your friends might respond
with envy of how exciting your life must have been. In reality, from one city
dweller to another, we both know how tedious and stressful things have been
after a while. And this phenomenon is not a myth.

According to
Sleepeducation.org, Dr. Lisa Wolfe said that insomnia and urban lifestyle are
related. Excessive light exposure and neverending buzzing noises seem to lead
to a condition that is referred to by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine
as environmental sleeping disorders. And guess what? Sleeping disorders cause
the others to show up, and depression and stress are some of them.

Here, you\'ll learn how to ease that problem. We believe that a truly healthy
body can only be achieved if the person\'s mind is healthy too.

## 1\\. Try a Culinary Travel

Perhaps, this suggestion might look contradictory to the goal of this article,
but foods do affect your mood. For instance, we all know that sweets are the
guilty pleasure when it comes to culinary. Our brain works primarily on
glucose, and yet if we consume it too much, we will be vulnerable to diabetes.

Therefore, when you feel like you want to taste different foods from several
restaurants, the key is not to overeat. As an example, let\'s assume you have
not tried Asian food before, and you want it. The first thing to do is to
browse some reviews about local restaurants to get a picture of what foods
they serve. Second, let\'s pretend you live in Warrington, then you probably
need to start your culinary adventure by visiting Mr. Lau\'s Dim Sum Bar and
Restaurant. Not only does dim sum have signature Asian taste, but this menu is
also healthy since it is steamed.

## 2\\. Join a Yoga Class

In case you are skeptical, you should know that yoga is not only about the
hype but also the health benefits. Yoga trains both body and mind to work in
harmony. It also conditions you to achieve some degree of muscle flexibility,
which can improve your blood circulation, cells regeneration, and mental
clarity.

Even if you are an excellent autodidactic learner, I will still suggest
joining a yoga class so that you can socialize as you exercise. Though urban
life may look crowded and noisy, people are lonely. And in your case, joining
a yoga class can facilitate you to interact with new people and make some new
friends.

## 3\\. Volunteer for Community\'s Good

Not all people
can have the life you have. And there will be no other way that can be as eye-
opening as helping others in need. You may feel bored, depressed, and
stressful, and that is okay. However, sometimes, the reason for that condition
is because you are grateful for your life.

Sign up for local community service programs. You can choose to help the
